Accessible Business Entrance

The Accessible Business Entrance program (Ordinance 51-16) was formed to enable persons with disabilities to access goods and services offered by businesses in San Francisco. Buildings that are classified as "places of public accommodation" are required by the program to comply with the ordinance. In this program, buildings in San Francisco are divided into four categories, which determine the amount and type of work to be done. Some of the requirements include door operation mechanics, doorway sizes, and threshold heights.

SGDM is here to help! We can discuss the options available to you and help your building reach compliance with the ABE ordinance.
